At NCS, nature is our master teacher. Our hands-on, placed-based learning model stimulates students’ developing intellects and creativity. In turn, they gain a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around them. North Country School gives children a humanistic education rooted in respect and responsibility for self and others.
Art every day” is more than a motto at North Country School, it’s a way of life. Through theater, stagecraft, music, studio arts, and design and build classes, we encourage creativity and collaboration seven days a week. All students have the opportunity to create, play, and perform in the WallyPAC, our state-of-the-art performing arts center.
A strong community is the foundation of day-to-day life at North Country School. NCS values the distinct backgrounds, preferences, and talents of individuals and encourages group dynamics that sustain a healthy school. Our students live in houses, eat meals “family style” in our dining room, contribute by doing community chores, and enjoy a diversity of engaging activities.
In a world where children are spending more time indoors and less time being physically active, North Country School offers signature programs that utilize the arts, the outdoors, and our farm and garden to keep our students’ minds and bodies active.
Every year, the generous contributions of our alumni, families, and friends help our students become confident and resourceful citizens. Giving to NCS is an investment in a sustainable and bright future for our children, our communities, and the world.
Where most classrooms end, ours begin.
